The goal | The aim of this course is to introduce students to the basic principles of metal corrosion protection by non-metallic coatings. The student should acquire basic theoretical knowledge of formation mechanism of non-metallic coatings on metal surfaces, as well as of corrosion protection by different types of depositeted non-metallic coatings. The additional aim of this course is to introduce students to the technologies of organicic coatings deposition in industry.
The outcome | Students have gained basic knowledge about formation mechanisms of non-metallic coatings aimed for corrosion protection of metal surfaces. Students are acquainted with experimental techniques for coatings deposition and characterization, as well as for investigation of coatings stability in different corrosion agents. Students have the ability to apply acquired knowledge in engineering practice and research.
