The goal | Introducing students to the basic principles of the study of medicine synthesis, from the choice of the pharmacologically active substance, through research and planning to development which consists of the optimization of synthetic procedure from laboratory conditions to industrial synthesis.
The outcome | The students should become acquainted with basic medicine synthesis in pharmaceutical industry, over research and development to the industrial production.
Contents | ||||
Contents of lectures | The course introduces students with basic principle – the choice of the reaction route, reactants, solvents, reaction's nature and conditions, purification of the product etc.) with the accent on the methods of obtaining optically clean substances. Chemical methods, stereoselectivity and catalysis will be taken into account, as well as the use of enzymes. Students get to know the asymmetric synthesis from the examples from industrial practice, based on the new stereochemical methods. The new QSAR methods and the necessary AMET characteristics will also be exaplained. ; ;
Contents of exercises | The synthesis of pharmacologically active substances which follows the literature work, tracing the reaction course and the up-to-date product identification.
