The goal | Basic knowledge on the structure, properties and processing of thermoplastic polymer materials. Basic knowledge for the correct selection of thermoplastic polymer materials for appropriate applications. | |||

Contents of lectures | 1. Introduction. Significance and volume of the application of thermoplastics at the global and domestic level. 2. Analysis of the properties of thermoplastic polymers relevant for their application and processing. 3. Polyolefins (polyethylene, polypropylene). 4. Vinyl polymers (poly(vinyl chloride), polystyrene, poly(methyl methacrylate)). 5. Linear polycondensation polymers (polyesters, polyamides, polycarbonate). 6. Thermoplastic elastomers. 7. Auxiliary raw materials for thermoplastic polymers (additives, plasticizers, fillers). 8. Basics of processing thermoplastic polymer materials. Calandering. Lamination. Extrusion. Polymer film production. Thermoforming. Rotoforming. Compression moulding. Injection moulding. Blow moulding. 9. Expanded thermoplastic polymer materials. 10.
