The goal | The aim is to acquire knowledge on industrial waste management (solid, liquid and gaseous state), characterization of industrial wastewater, solid matter and gaseous discharges into the environment, harmonization, evaluation and planning of industrial processes in accordance with the legislation. Observation of industrial processes according to the possibility of introducing the concept of cleaner production and reducing the impact on the environment. | |||
The outcome | Understanding the importance of managing an industrial process in such a way as to maximize the prevention of the separation of hazardous and harmful substances into the air, watercourses and land. Connection with the legislation in this coast. Students' ability to apply acquired knowledge in the practice of assessing an industrial process according to the ISO 14001 standard and compliance with applicable legal regulations. | |||

Contents of lectures | Familiarization with groups of industrial processes that discharge hazardous waste into the environment, as well as pollutants that are solid, liquid and gaseous. The ISO 14001 standard, environmental management according to the standard, method of assessment and compliance with the legal regulations are processed. The data enable us to see the company's commitment to environmental policy. | |||
Contents of exercises | Carrying out a case study for a selected industrial plant, environmental impact assessment, compliance with legal regulations. ; Special study of the basics of ISO 14001 standards (environmental protection policy, aspects and goals related to environmental protection, environmental management). | |||
