The goal | The goal of the course is to introduce students to the basic as well as advanced knowledge of organic dyes and pigments important to chemical engeeners. | |||

Contents of lectures | Introduction. Classification of colorants. History. Basic concepts of color. Correlation between chemical structure and color. Synthesis, properties and application of dyes. Pigments. Classification, properties and synthesis of pigments. Ecology and toxicology of colorants. | |||
