The goal | Introducing the student to the concept of packaging for special purposes. Defining the term packaging for special purposes for which there is a need in specific situations of transportation or storage of goods in which it is necessary to protect the product from various influences. These situations can occur when the item being transported is of particular importance or sensitivity, or when transporting some goods that is not specific itself, but the conditions of transportation or storage are special.
The outcome | After completing the course, the student will be able to assess the situation in which special-purpose packaging needs to be used, will be able to define criteria for the selection of materials, choose the packaging form, propose and calculate the packaging form and choose the process of its production. Students will be familiar with transportation regulations as well as sets of regulations that can be used to define the process of transporting materials that require special purpose packaging, whether the item itself is being transported or the transportation conditions are demanding or if need to design the packaging in a special way.
