The goal | Learning about quality generaly, and about quality of printed products. Training the student to use modern methods of quality control in prinitng production. Training the student to participate in preparing the printing house for certification according to ISO standards and PSo procedure. | |||

Contents of lectures | Quality basics. Classification of quality characteristics. Internal and external qulity control. Historical development of internal quality control. Quality management. Quality characteristics of graphic products. Measuring methods in the printing quality control. Automatic presetting of the printing press and prinitng quality control. Standardization basics. ISO organization. ISO 9000. PSO certification. Review of the ISO 12647 series of standards. Other certification methods (GRACOL, SWOP). | |||
