The goal | The aim of this course is to inform students on the procedures of modern industrial bookbindery finishing; to train them to manage and to improve bookbindery department; to inform them on the forms of paper and cardboard packaging; to teach them how to make certain forms of paper and cardboard for packaging; to inform them on the most important properties of paper and cardboard as packaging material; to make them capable to manage and improve department for production of paper and cardboard for packaging. | |||
The outcome | The student gained knowledge about printing methods for different packaging materials in different forms. The student can include himself into production process in packaging material factory. The student can choose appropriate printing method for printing certain packaging material and form. | |||

Contents of lectures | Printing the plastic packaging material. Printing the foils, plastic bottles and cups. Printing the plastic boxes. Printing plastic cap. Printing plastic bags. Priiitng the glass packaging: bottles, containers and vials. Printing metal packaging: aluminum and tinplate cans, aluminum foil, tinplate cap. Printing the paper and board packaging: corrugated board, chromo board, wrapping paper, paper bags. Label printing. | |||
Contents of exercises | Calculation exercises. Visiting packaging materials factory to demonstrate the technological process for prinitng the packaging material. Solving the practical problems. | |||
