The goal | Acquisition of basic knowledge in the field of solid state chemistry, synthesis and basic methods for characterization of crystalline materials. Consideration of physico-chemical properties relevant to the application of materials, including semiconductors, optoelectric and piezoelectric materials. Acquiring basic knowledge about explaining the crystal structure of the material, as well as about the relationship between electron configuration, chemical bonding, crystal structure and properties. Choosing the appropriate methods for exploration of material properties.
The outcome | The use of theoretical and practical knowledge of the crystal structure of material for explaining the physico-chemical properties that determine the application of different materials. Ability to propose the optimal procedure for the synthesis of a material, and the choice of appropriate physico-chemical method for characterization of materials. Analysis of the experimental results and comparison with literature data.
