Methodological approach and concept of quality control. Statistical processing and interpretation of results.
Sample preparation: sampling (solid, liquid and gaseous samples), stabilization and archiving of samples; decomposition, concentration, purification of samples, pre-treatment of sample (preconcentration).
Chemical methods and analytical techniques for the proof and determination of elements, ions and compounds (Classical semi-micro and micro techniques, tests, spot analysis; gravimetric, volumetric). Review of modern instrumental methods and applications for quality control and monitoring in the chemical industry. Choice of methods. Method selection criteria. Assessment, design and applicability of chemical analysis methods. Sensitivity, selectivity and limits of determination.

Contents of exercises | Testing the composition of different samples (qualitative). Measurement of control parameters for monitoring the quality of samples (pH, conductivity, oxygen content). Water quality testing (tap, bottled, waste, process): classically volumetric (p and m alkalinity, color, hardness, chloride content), instrumental (potentiometry, selective electrode ion, AAS, IC), pH determination, content of individual cations and anions, conductivity, heavy metals, and other parameters that are indicators of quality. Analysis of the quality of specific materials in the chemical industry: acids, bases, salts, water, gases, alloys, ores, ceramics, composite materials, glass, catalysts, polymers, food, drugs; appropriate techniques. |
