The goal | Goal of this course is the gaining of scientific and academic knowledge of the technologies of biofuels production (bioethanol, biodiesel, biobutanol, biomethanol etc.). Students are introduced to basic biotechnological production processes of different types of biofuels from biomass (from the first to the fourth generation of biofuels) as well as techno-economic aspects of their production. Also, students learn about the new trends in this area as weel as about society obligations (The Kyoto Protocol and EU legislatives) to replace fossil fuels with renewable energy resources–biofules in accordance with the concept of sustainable development.
The outcome | After the finished course, students will gain basic knowledge about technological processes and modern trends in the production of biofuels.
