The goal | The main purpose of the course is to provide students with the knowledge of chemical principles and processes involved in the environment. The course initially provides a foundation knowledge of chemical processes in the atmosphere, hydrosphere, lithosphere and biosphere. The course focuses on principles of the Green Chemistry as prerequisites for a sustainable developmen.
The outcome | Upon successful completion of the course, students should understand: the nature and properties of the major components of the natural environment; principles of the interaction of substances with environment and inside the environment. Students should demonstrate an understanding of the role of the important physical, chemical and biochemical processes in the environment and offer an acceptable solution for an actual environmental problem.
