The goal | The aim of this course is to introduce students to electrochemical deposition and characterization of non-metallic coatings – organic, ceramic and bioceramic coatings on metal substrates using electrochemical methods. The student should acquire basic theoretical knowledge of stability of electrochemicallly deposited non-metallic coatings in different corrosion agents, as well as experimental techniques for coating deposition and characterization.
The outcome | Students have gained basic knowledge about formation mechanisms of non-metallic coatings – organic, ceramic and bioceramic coatings on metal substrates using electrochemical methods. Students are acquainted with experimental techniques for coatings deposition and characterization, as well as for investigation of coatings stability in different corrosion agents. Students have the ability to apply acquired knowledge in engineering practice and research.
