The goal | Due to the rapid development of micro- and nanoelectronics (and corresponding demands), a need for new and perspective materials is ever increasing, and polymers hold an important place. | |||
The outcome | Getting student to learn about possible applications materials in nanoelectronics,regarding elektronic structure and chemical bonding. анд training in order to be capable of both analysis and synthesis of materials. | |||
Contents | ||||
Contents of lectures | INTRODUCTION - comparison of organic to classical semiconductors; band gap structure of organic semiconductors ; BASICS OF ELECTRONIC TRANSPORT - electronic transfer (‘hopping’). Models of charge mobility. Influence of mobility parameters such as temperature, defects types and its distribution, external voltage, contact effects in polymer based devices. DESIGN, SYNTHESIS AND PERFORMANCES OF ORGANIC SEMICONDUCTORS - n and p type (polymers of various materials and characteristics comparison), organic dielectrics (and its application in thin films) and comparison to nonorganic dielectrics ; THIN FILMS PRODICTION - Vacuum deposition, lithography etc. ; APPLICATIONS - LED (Light – emitting diodes). Optoelectronic devices (sensors etc.). Piezoelectric and pyroelectric properties. Applications in integrated technology (resistors, photo resistors). TFT (Thin – Film – Transistors) and application to flat screens. e – paper application and other relevant materials; chemical sensors; application in additional devices for radio-frequent identification | |||
