The goal | Since textile industry, being a highly technical industry, is constantly subjected to many changes by technical advancements, as reflected in introduction of novel – advanced finishing processes, the students’ acquaintance with novel and special dyeing, finishing and printing processes is necessary for understanding the possible directions of future development of textile technology.
The outcome | By obtaining knowledge on theoretical principles of novel and special dyeing, finishing and printing processes, which are fundamentally different from regular (i.e. routine) processes, students get skills and capability for implementing advanced finishing processes in industry.
Contents | ||||
Contents of lectures | The course describes principles, concepts and theories involved in novel and special dyeing, finishing and printing processes for textile materials. It gives broad understanding of application of alternative methods for textile material treatment (e.g. use of enzymes and biopolymers; use of ultrasound and supercritical fluid in dyeing and finishing of textile material; use of digital printing; etc.).
