The goal | The aim of the course is to introduce students to the modern methodology of process design and specialized software application on process design and optimization in chemical and petrochemical industry.
The outcome | After this course students will be able to use software for process design and optimization. As an integral part of the course, students will perform selected process and product design and optimization.
Contents | ||||
Contents of lectures | This course is focused on the application of the basic principles in the process design, and it will be based on actual examples from the chemical process industry. The real system design will be performed using software for process design. ; Course refers to segments of the process design and optimization, as well as the integration of different parts of the process within the industrial complex. ; Design of equipment that is not part of the main menu of software for process design and optimization, will be solved using compatible software such as Mathlab, Maple, etc.. ; Influence of process/equipment selection on the environment also will be considered.
Contents of exercises | Computer simulations that follow the theoretical classes.
