The goal | The aim of this course is to introduce students to the theoretical and practical knowledge of modern electrode materials, through the study of their types and their application in various electrochemical reactions, methods of production and material testing with modern surface techniques, and selection of appropriate materials from the standpoint of stability and efficiency. The course includes an independent seminar work.
The outcome | After the successful course finishing students are: (i) gain the ability to analyze problems, develop and contempt testing, (ii) mastered the knowledge in electrode materials (iii) gain communication and social competencies necessary for the work in the engineering team, (iii) gain communication skills for clear formulation and presentation of the task, ways of solving and presentation of the results.
Contents | ||||
Contents of lectures | The course introduces students to contemporary electrode material, its production and modern surface characterization techniques, which are used in the electrolysis, electrocatalysis and electrochemical power sources. Selected practical examples are analyzed in order to connect theoretical knowledge with practical problems.
