The goal | The aim of the course is to familiarize students with the theoretical basis of the adsorption, adsorption models, the experimental techniques of synthesis of adsorbents, as well as with the influence of surface properties and surface modification of inorganic adsorbents on the adsorption efficiency.
The outcome | After successful completion of the course the students have mastered the basic theoretical knowledge of the processes of adsorption, synthesis, modification and application of inorganic adsorbents.
Contents | ||||
Contents of lectures | The course introduces to the students the theoretical basis of the adsorption process in the thermodynamic point of view and in terms of the surface chemistry of adsorbents. By writing an essay individually students get familiar with the latest scientific developments in this field. ;
Contents of exercises | In the practical work, a special attention is put on to synthesis, characterization and modification of inorganic adsorbents for special applications.
