The goal | The aim of the course is to introduce students to master the basic principles and techniques of separation, the calculation of basic values and parameters important for separation processes, and the criteria for selection to a particular technique, and a separating agent for a specific purpose. | |||
The outcome | The ability of individual and team work on the application of commercial and development of new separation technique in various fields, particularly in the areas of quality control and environmental protection in industrial production. | |||
Contents | ||||
Contents of lectures | The importance and classification of separation techniques. The principles of equilibrium separation processes. The principles of separation with chemical reaction. Chromatography. The principles of membrane separation processes. Separation in an electric field. Biological and biochemical separation methods. Attractive solution of separation systems for quality control and environmental protection. | |||
Contents of exercises | LAB: Distillation, liquid-liquid extraction; adsorption; ion exchange chromatography; chromatography column, membrane extraction, membrane filtration. | |||
