The goal | The course introduce students to specific production principals in inorganic chemical technology. Course provide students with the fundamental knowledge of industrial chemical and physical analysis (analysis of raw materials, semiproducts and products) and there application in technology control and introduce students to standards and significance of industrial products quality control. | |||
The outcome | Students developed the skill for individual and team work in industrial laboratories for raw materials and products quality control in inorganic chemical technology. Students have obtained knowledge and appreciation to work in research laboratories on quality control improvement. | |||
Contents | ||||
Contents of lectures | Introduction and significance of inorganic chemical technology. Introduction to standards and significance of industrial products quality control. Manufacture and quality control of primary inorganic materials (nitrogen and nitrogen compounds, phosphorus and phosphorus compounds, halogens and halogens compounds). Mineral fertilizers, manufacture and quality control of raw materials and products. Construction materials, ceramics, glass industries and inorganic fibers, and cements. Manufacturing procedures and physical and chemical analysis of silicon and its inorganic compounds. Chemical analysis of inorganic pigments. | |||
Contents of exercises | LAB: Chemical analysis of inorganic acids, mineral fertilizers, silicates, chromates, zeolites and inorganic pigments. | |||
