The goalTo adopt principles of materials selection for specific applications, predefined bz exploitation conditions. Materials selection is forced by failure of material/component/construction and is usually targeting improvement/optimatization of existing material, or development of new material. Course is also focused on procedure of failure analysis and its consequence on materials selection
The outcomeStudent will be qualified to identify critical exploitation parameters and adequate microstructure that can provide safe work, together with correct safety design of components (taking account materials properties, together with weight, cost, mainenance etc).
