The goal | Students acquire basic theoretical and practical knowledge necessary for further study of the theoretical and engineering aspects of electrochemistry.
The outcome | Students are gain theoretical knowledge of electrochemical systems, electrolytes, electrochemical thermodynamics and kinetics of electrochemical and mastered the appropriate experimental techniques.
Contents | ||||
Contents of lectures | The course teaches the basic theoretical aspects of electrochemistry through chapters: Electrochemical Systems, Electrolyte solutions (ion-ion and ion-dipole interactions, and the molar electrical conductivity), electrochemical thermodynamics (electrochemical potential, electrode potential, electromotive force, electrodes and electrochemical bracings) and electrochemical kinetics (overvoltage and reaction rate of the electrochemical reactions, electrolysis).
Contents of exercises | I. Copper coulometer, electrochemical preparation, the electrolyte conductivity or conductometric titration (alternative). ; II. From the field: Electrochemical Thermodynamics (measurement and application of measurements of the electromotive force and electrode potentials). ; III. From the field : Electrochemical kinetics (overvoltage of the electrochemical reaction, electrolysis, energy conversion). ;
