The goal | The acquisition of scientific knowledge and skills for independent research and application of new knowledge in the field of polymer packaging materials and advanced packaging requirements, introduction to barrier properties of polymeric materials and their combinations, as well as to introduce students to the processes at the molecular level and using them to achieve the desired properties of packaging. | |||
The outcome | Preparing students for innovation, modernization, development and improvement of the properties of polymer packaging packaging. Application of knowledge of contemporary combination of barrier properties of packaging materials, shapes and sizes of packaging products for packaging of various food products with modern packaging requirements. | |||
Contents | ||||
Contents of lectures | Solubility, diffusion and permeability. Influence of polymers, effect of the type of fluid, the dependence of these properties on the dimensions and form of the sample. Solubility coefficient and diffusion. Effect of temperature and pressure on these properties. ; Influence of processing on the barrier properties. The procedures for obtaining films and their influence on the final properties of the polymer film. ; Application in packaging industry. Barrier properties of polymer packaging for different penetrants - gas, oil, aqueous solutions, organic solvents. Food packaging. Packing in "intelligent" materials. Packing household chemical instrumentation. Packing of other materials. | |||
