The goal | The aim of the course is to enable students to understand the basic concepts of transport phenomena in multiphase systems, ways of reasoning, logic and terminology in the area, as well as to acquire a basis for understanding the unit operations and chemical reactor design in multiphase systems, learn the calculation methods and sources of information in this field.
The outcome | Students acquire fundamental knowledge of transport phenomena of momentum, heat and mass transfer in multiphase systems (fluid-particles systems, gas-liquid and liquid-gas dispersions, dispersions of two immiscible liquids) as the basis for the calculation of complex problems. Student should be able to recognize the phenomena, to make mathematical models of the systems and to perform the calculations.
